Slag Swirl Necklace
This one-of-a-kind necklace features Stone Stack Iron Furnace Slag, quite a mouthful for a rich river treasure. I found the slag in the Gale River near me, but it could have come from countless other historical iron furnace sites across North America and Europe. This is a beautiful piece of slag, with lovely striations of blues. I polished it so as to preserve the gleam that it had in the river, and set it in silver, dangling it from a silver swirl that echoes the movement of the river in eddies where slag is found. It measures 1/2" x 1 1/4" and hangs from an 18" oxidized Sterling chain.
