This one-of-a-kind necklace features Stone Stack Iron Furnace Slag, quite a mouthful for a rich river treasure. I found the slag in the Gale River near me, but it could have come from countless other historical iron furnace sites across North America and Europe. I polished this lovely piece of slag so as to preserve the gleam that it had in the river, and set it on silver textured with watery whirlpools. It measures 3/4" x 1 1/4" and hangs from an 18" oxidized Sterling chain.

The slag found downriver tends to be smaller pieces that have been tumbled and smoothed by the current. Oh so fun to find!
