This necklace features a lovely piece of Stone Stack Slag that I found in the Gale River in Franconia, NH, where I live. It could have come from anywhere that had an iron industry 200 years ago (and you would be surprised by how many locations there are!). I polished the piece and added a bit of a gold mica powder mixture, borrowing from the concept of Kintsugi, celebrating the broken. I then set it on an oxidized Sterling branch, complete with leaves and a resident inchworm. The necklace is 19" long, and unites the beauty of nature with the fascination of local history and those who came before us.
