Spore printing is one factor in identifying a mushroom. Caps are laid on white and black paper in order to see what color spores drop. The resulting pattern is fascinating, a star burst of sorts. This Black and White Spore Print Necklace is inspired by the real thing. It is handmade out of Sterling silver and jeweler's brass, and carefully hand-painted, and then sealed with a protective coat of resin. It is studded with little black and silver "spores" which give it sparkle and texture. It measures 7/8" in diameter and is suspended on an 18" Sterling chain.

It is the mushroom that was featured in Alice in Wonderland, and was the subject of European folklore, and often represented in Christmas tree ornaments. They are handcrafted from jewelry’s brass and Sterling, and carefully hand painted, and sealed with 4 protective clear coats, the final one being a jewelry grade resin for the ultimate durability. The stems dance lightly underneath the caps. And it gets better! Bits of the decorative elements will glow in the dark after being exposed to bright light for several minutes. They measure a scant 3/4” wide and 1” long without the earring wires. Earring wires are Sterling but can be replaced with the ultimate hypo-allergenic niobium by request.
