The karner blue butterfly is endangered due to the loss of its foodsource, the wild lupine, or lupinus perennis. Due to the efforts of school children replanting this native wildflower, the karner blue is making a come-back. These Karner Blue Butterfly Earrings are a tribute to this special butterfly, and to the efforts of these children. The earrings are handcrafted from jeweler's brass and Sterling silver, and carefully hand-painted. They measure 7/8" x 7/8" and are light as....what else?...a butterfly.
