Product Description

Imagine relaxing on your back in a forest, (or better yet, go do it!) and looking up in to the canopy to see the patterns of sky created by tree branches that are almost touching. This is the result of crown shyness. Crown shyness is the phenomenon that occurs in forests in which the top branches of certain species of trees do not touch each other. This allows for more even distribution of sunlight and the result is healthier individual trees and thus the forest as a whole. A clear metaphor and lesson for human society can be found here.

These jeweler's brass earrings measure 5/8" wide and 1 1/8" tall including their green niobium earring wires. (Have I mentioned that niobium is the most hypo-allergenic metal and that its various colors are attained with electrical currents? How cool is that?) The earrings have a finish on them with prevents tarnishing. And surprise! The stars in these earrings shine in the dark if exposed to a bright light first! They come in a gift box with an note that explains them.
